Good News
At 1:00PM Peyton went to sleep in Yolanda's arms, although she did put up a fight to stay awake. It's always hard to see these things especially with your own children. But it was actually comforting to be with her to witness first hand everything she was experiencing, but still very scary none the less. But now for what appears to be good news, Peyton's Doctor came out after just 20 minuets, and wanted to discuss what he saw. But because we thought we had three hours to kill and not expecting an update untill 2:00PM Yolanda went to get something to eat. So, Peyton's Doctor went on to inform me that Peyton's windpipe has in fact grown and he feels we should just try to remove the trach without any further surgical procedure, he said he felt confident this would be successful. We are with Peyton in recovery right now ( a little after 2:00PM) and she is wide awake and not so happy as she's not too sure what's going on, but she is doing great. We are waiting for a transport to her room on the surgical floor and later this afternoon, the doctor will come by and remove the trach, then we wait and see how she does. If everything goes well, we go home tomorrow without the trach.
