We haven’t written and updated the blog in sometime, we have been so busy with kids and work and Holidays, so our apologies. I think we left off somewhere in October. The family had a fun Halloween, we dressed up together, and yes I actually got Ken in a costume! Check out pics below. November was good, Thanksgiving is always fun, we spent the afternoon with grandma Cookie, Yvonne and Rod and as always mom cooked up a yummy and filling feast. Then we headed over to Ken’s moms (Myrna and Marvin) for another yummy feast, where we visited with Barb, Jim, and Lauren and Kristen, Grandpa Kent and Marlene! Peyton is not much of a meat eater but she loves ranch dressing, tomatoes, and mashed potatoes! Ken introduced her to Black Olives and now she can’t seem to get enough and she just loves playing with them, thanks, Ken. Wow, and then there was Christmas, I just can’t believe that it’s been here and gone already, makes me sad! Again we spent time with family and ate way too much, we had a cookie exchange and Hannah and Peyton had a lot of fun helping mommy make lots of cookies! Santa spoiled us and we are so thankful for the love of our family and friends! So, January has been very busy, Peyton turned 2 on the fourth and is becoming quite the active toddler. She is talking more, saying orange, pink, green, mommy, yeah, no, more and just really starting to repeat us! She is a really sweet and happy baby and too smart! The girls recently had a dentist appt., Peyton’s first-everyone got a good check-up, but I don’t think Peyton wants to return any time soon. Hannah liked the new dentist so we are good there! Peyton is still on tube feedings but we have reduced the amount significantly. We just had an appt. with the nutritionist a week ago Tues. and we reduced the milk again. So, pretty soon she will be getting most of her calories by mouth and the g-tube can go away. It will be so nice to have that freedom back. We also had a Dr. Appt last Tues. and Peyton weighed in at 24.7 lbs and is 2 feet 9 inches tall as she continues to thrive.
Hannah is midway through the sixth grade and is doing well; we attended a DARE graduation for her the other night, sponsored by Douglas County and Parker Police to help kids make a promise to stay away from drugs and alcohol. They had to write essays and be apart of the class for 6-8 weeks. So we were proud of her! Now we are preparing for Middle School and if grades stay up she will probably play soccer in the spring. She is such a great help to me; I don’t know what I would do without her!
Aaron has been attending Metro State College and maintaining a B average. He is still working at Kunjani Coffea and hanging out with friends during his free time. A few weeks ago he invited us to Boulder for his first solo glider plane flight and did very well! Thank God! He is a brave kid. We celebrated with a great lunch with Aaron’s Grandfather, Harley and other friends. So, yes it appears as though our kids are growing up way to fast! I can’t stand it! Ken is still working for U.P.S and Verizon downtown. He is pretty busy at both jobs. I think we are both happy that he hasn’t lost work with the way the economy is right now. And for myself, just hanging in there chasing Peyton around and taking her to Gymboree classes on Wednesdays and making sure homework gets done, kids eat and have clean clothes!
A mother’s work is never done! right?
Here is a photo from last week, check back later I will add more when this evening.
